I truly believe that we can learn so much from each other.
There are so many philosophies that can enhance the quality of own lives. All we need do is open ourselves up and expose ourself to them. Listed below are the contents of peoples handbags from people who have certainly had a positive impact on me at a time in my life, since I went travelling, whilst I am still forming the philosophies that will guide me through life.
For these interviews, I asked them all the same questions: Q.1. Where was the photo taken? Q.2. What’s in their handbag? Q.3. Which item did they value the most? Q.4. I tell you why I think they have a beautiful soul. Q.5. Something else I’d like to add.

Your Handbag Number 5: Sebastian Terry, 28, Australian in UK
1. Taken on the day we met in Southampton, December 2009. Sebastian (doing his “batman” ears) is on a world trip of his own. He’s written 100 things that he’s always wanted to do and is currently travelling the world living his dreams. We had a fun morning hot chocolate talking about the travelling lifestyle.
2. £80 cash, driving licence, my names sakes ‘Sebastian Terry’ business card, Maestro card, WillBaxter.com card, Metro card, International Youth travel card, Medicare card, my Oz mobile with a UK sim card, my leather wallet, some random travel book! And a compliments slip from Kings School Winchester.
3. His favourite item was his card because “It is what I give out to people.”
4. Sebastian has a beautiful soul because he is exploring himself and the world whilst he completes his 100 things. I admire him greatly.

Your Handbag Number 4: Tim, 43 (business owner)
1. Taken next to one of his relaxation Floatworks pods in London.
2. The wooden chest come from this room, it holds the ear plugs that people use when they have a therapy session in one of our float tanks. The contents come from my tan leather wallet, Morgan Stanley credit card, Abbey debit card, Barclays Visa Debit card, Barclaycard personal, Barclaycard business, train ticket, Makro card, NHS card, three receipts and a business card from HFM.
3. My favourite item has to be my wallet because it’ll outlast all the cards.
4. Tim has a beautiful soul because he brings out the best of me, my creative and thoughtful side.

Your Handbag Number 3: Laura, 45 (farmers wife and school teacher)
1. Taken at the front of a tractor outside the big barn on our arable farm, Worcester, UK.
2. In my handbag: sunglasses, glasses, diary, two black biros with lids, hairbrush, flip front mobile phone, lipstick, two loose pieces of chewing gum, Johnsons dry cleaning car, The Daily Telegraph, £24.65 in change, Return train ticket from Birmingham to Worcester, National Trust ticket for me, my husband and our two kids, Driving licence, NASUWT membership ID card, Laura Ashley 2% voucher, pencil case full of USB sticks, address book and a ticket to the Think Tank at EcoCentre in Birmingham.
3. Her most valued possesion was her pencil case full of my USB sticks, full of her pupils coursework thatt they have worked so hard towards.
4. Laura has a beautiful soul because she knows who she is and what she is good at.
5. She’d like to add, “I don’t carry anything important in my handbag. I might loose it!”

Your Handbag Number 2: Eleanor, 88 (authors grandmother)
1. Taken at my Aunt Maggie’s 60th birthday party celebrations in Devon.
2. Two sets of car keys, black leather handbag, strepsils, cheque book, lip stick, credit cards, debit cards, collapsible hairbrush with mirror, two blushers, Nectar card, Tesco card, 35mm film, driving licence ID card, 2007 diary, two pens, black leather purse with gold coloured clasp.
3. Grannie said: “My favourite item has to be my car keys because it lets me see my family.”
4. Grannie has a beautiful soul because she is always telling me stories of when I was a cute little boy running around the garden with a hancechief around my neck pretending to be a cowboy.
5. Her final request, “Please don’t put my picture up on the internet.” oops, sorry Grannie.

Your Handbag Number 1: Shanel Catasti, 33
1. Taken at the busiest cross roads in Japan.
2. Sunglasses, music CD mp3, diary, headphone, iPod, housekeys, fluffy wallet, pen without lid, orange mobile phone, mirror, fan, ice tea bottle, lip balm, lip gloss, Metropolis magazine, book on yoga, red purse.
3. My favourite item has to be my diary because it’s where all my thoughts are kept.
4. Shanel has a beautiful soul because she embraces the new and cherishes her opportunities.
5. She’d like to add: “My star sign is Virgo, I have no prescripted religion, Japan is introducing me to Buddism and Zen philosophy and I’m definitely on a spiritual path with yoga.”
